Tuesday May 19

Since we were only 4 people in class today, including Mr. Max; we only went over the ellipse part of Conics and did not do Hyperbolae yet, but that will be on tomorrow. Homework is 1-10 on Ex. 37 and Acc. Math

Here are our screenshots:

What I think should be noted for these kind of functions is, that the a and b in the formula changes its place in the visualization, according to which one of them is bigger, which is a bit confusing, because everything else in the study of Mathematics seems logical to me, but this ;)

a is always whichever line, from the center to any vertex, is longer!
from one vertex to the opposite one is always 2a or 2b!

I hope that raised the general confusion ;D

At the start of the class Mr. Max showed us some videos about conics so we at least know what he will be talking about in the next couple of days
Here's a link to a cool video about conics: conics vid
Then we played around with graphmatica and tried out some stuff.

homework is Ex.36 1-10

may7th/8th

I think I was supposed to scribe one of those two days(may7th/8th), but got messed up because Max wasn't there and there was a post of may 8th, so... :(
Anyways both days were work periods and there were no notes, and it wasn't even an important date in German history that I could tell you about... so, just do the acc. math and the ex up to 34

May 1, 09

Today was a work period, so we just did some exercises or accelerated math.

Did you know that in Germany May 1st is a free day, because it is the „Tag des Bekenntnisses zu Freiheit und Frieden, sozialer Gerechtigkeit, Völkerversöhnung und Menschenwürde“, which is German for 'Day of Commitment to Freedom and Peace, Justice, Reconciliation of the Nations and human Dignity', which basically is a day that was chosen by the German Parliament to commemorate the becoming a democratic state of Germany after World War II.
...now you know :D

Wednesday April 08, 09

At the start of today's class we had a discussion about global warming(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming) and the coming of another ice-age etc, which everyone in class agreed to be far more interesting than anything about logs, but we ended up doing logs in the end anyways... :|
Some new log laws and then some examples, here the screens:

I just lost my whole post because I was trying to upload the images in the order that they were created...
I cut out the text, then uploaded the images, then saved the draft, and when I was just about to paste the text back in my computer hung itself up(froze) and so the text was lost...
Here are the screens for now, maybe I wil try to retype the text later, but for now this will have to do...

Tuesday March 3: Work Period #1

hi, I forgot to scribe yesterday, but it's not yet 24hours so I'm not doomed yet ;D
what we did basically was what Max told us to in the last post: work on all the previous execises and up to ex.#13, though I'm not too sure if anybody got that far yet...
anyhow, no screens, no vid, just another day, enjoy the same thing today :)
