conics test

In today's class we wrote our conics test yay..insert sarcasm... so I'll wish luck to everyone and have a good weekend.

Work Period

well in today's class we took the period to work on questions in the exercises and accelerated math to try and help us prepare for tomorrows test. we also got our probability test back today which from what i heard wasn't the best mark ever especially when the class is asked if the whole class just simply universally hates the probability unit. The rest of the class was asking questions on how to do different questions which for the most part was on probability.

Catch up time!

Being that we have a substitute teacher for the next two days we were assigned to do exercises 31-33 as well as to try and get ahead in our accelerated math. We are to use the math40s.com website to help us on the probability questions we will encounter. Well good luck on acceleratd math and the questions in the excercise booklet. and here is a little picture for the wrestling fans.

exponential growth and decay

Well in our class today we finished our notes on exponential growth and decay which was pretty much just plugging in the numbers into formula's we were given today which are on the slides below. Mr. Max also decided to go the dangerous way and finish off the last example question without looking at his curriculum guide, which ended up giving us the right answer, it just ended up being the scenic route there.

To bad that that the math scenic route wasn't quite as good looking as this picture.

Mental Math round two

Well today's class started off with us doing mental questions for about half the class we did a mental which was a blessing for a few of us and a curse for the rest. The rest of the class was devoted to doing more of the unit questions up to 22. we were assigned in the class lesson 21 questions #1-12.

also by the sounds of it in class i think most people wished that logs in math were this type of log.

Mental math and more identities

Well today we started our class with a quick mental math, followed by another one, and then yet another one Which gave us a total of 15 questions which didn't help to many of us in the marks department. After that happened we had members of the safe grad committee come in and try to get everyone to vote on the theme, with the choices being carnival, Miami, Paris, or 80's night club. Finally we came to doing more identities and are now to the find a point using two angles by either using addition or subtraction. The main way this works is by using one of the following identities:
With alpha representing one angle and beta the other angle. Here is the example question we did in class as well as where it would be on the unit circle.

Finnally at the end of the day we were told to do the homework we were previously assigned and to keep working on accelerated math because a mark is going in for it before parent- teacher interviews.

graphing absolute values

Well my fellow peers today we learned about all the uses that the smart sync program has, which mostly seem to be making sure we do what we are supposed to during the class. We also worked on graphing absolute values. The real short way that absolute values work is that if you have f(x) graphed the absolute value of f(x) has it so that when the y value is about to become less than zero the value then bounces so that y is always positive. like wise when graphing the reciprocal function of an absolute value graph the absolute and then use Max's famous, well semi famous rule of inverses "greatering equals lessering and vise versa"

and here is a couple of site with online graphing calculators. Also remember to do questions 1-12 on exercise 11.

Friday the 13th

Sorry for having this post up a tad bit late but having been away for the first week of class I hadn't been invited to this blog so was unable to contribute to it. Anyways this is for FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH which if i heard right wasn't a real lucky day for our basketball team. To bad guys but you'll just have to prove that it was the dates fault for your losses in your next game. But back to the class. It was basically a free period where we were allowed to either work on the assignments given to us or go and watch the basketball tournament in the gym. Here's hopping that no ones weekend turned out following the forecast given below.
